NECK AND HEAD
It is our intention to make you aware how pain and symptoms are generated by trigger points
in muscles of the head and neck. Head and neck pain as well as other symptoms such as
blurring of vision, imbalance or disturbed weight perception are generated by trigger points
in several muscles in the neck, head, face, jaw or the shoulder.
Conditions related to head/neck Tension headache is pain or discomfort in the head, or neck usually associated with muscle tightness or spasm in these areas.
Headaches can also be caused by sinus pressure, pinched nerve, toxins, or vascular disruption.
Migraine headache is a common type of headache that may occur with symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, sensitivity of light, visual disturbance or altered bodily perceptions. Trigger points in the SCM are usually a significant contributing cause of migraine headache.
Temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMJ) Dysfunction in the TMJ, or jaw joint is characterized by pain in the joint itself that radiates into the jaw, ear or neck. TMJ is caused by mascular or articular conditions, or both.
Arthritis of the neck is a joint disorder featuring inflammation; it literally means inflammation of one or more joints. (Perpetuated by a trigger point)
